Request a (Virtual) Volunteer Career Coach to Support High School Students!

Thank you for requesting a volunteer Career Coach! We do our best to accommodate all requests, but this may not always be possible in every circumstance.
  • The person who is hosting the volunteer career coach, needs to be the person to fill out this form, and the more detail provided, the better.
  • Volunteers are expected to help a minimum of one hour once a week. 
Students Who May Be a Good Fit:
  • Do you know a student who plans to attend college, but is still unsure about their career plans? OR
  • Do you know a student has an idea of what career they are aiming for, but may need some help planning a path to their goal? OR 
  • Do you know a student who doesn't have a plan yet and could benefit from individualized support to figure out? OR

**All career coaches are vetted, attend limited training, and complete the state required on-boarding process.

Thank you so much for your help in identifying the following information which is important both for safety reasons and for the purpose of keeping families looped into the process and informed along the way. We understand that this is an important time for students, and we want each parent/guardian to feel confident about their student's mentorship through the program.
  • One parent/guardian is required to sign a waiver consenting for their child's participation in the virtual volunteering program where mentors and students will Zoom 1:1. 
  • The Educator submitting this form is required to list an accurate legal guardian for this student. This information should come directly from the District's Student Information System (please contact a school administrator if you need assistance). The Oakland Public Education Fund takes no responsibility to identify guardianship. 
  • Guardians are required to have email addresses. 
  • If the student is 18 years old, you may list the student's name, email address, and phone number in the Guardian fields below.
  • Student must have access to a device and the internet. If this is an issue, please connect with TechExchange.
